Our learning this week:
Word Study - Click HERE for the word list that came home last Thursday. Test this Thursday, Jan 12th.
Writing - We’ll begin the week learning about how to use commas in a series. Later in the week, we will start drafting a poem.
Reading - Continued learning about poetry. We will analyze some poems and learn about literal vs. figurative language in poems.
SS - We will continue to learn about heroes. At the end of the week, the students will design a hero award and decide which hero they learned about deserves to win it.
Math - On Monday, students will take their 2nd nine weeks math CBA. This will give information about what they learned in the first semester in math. We will then begin our unit on fractions.
Science - Space! This is a favorite unit for all third graders that will continue through the next four weeks. We start with the sun and move on to inner vs. outer planets.
