Duke Read to Soar Celebration!
A Reading/Library Celebration in April
Aviator 300,000 Minute Reading Challenge
The Duke staff is challenging our Aviators to team up and read 300,000 minutes by April 30th! Your child will bring home a bookmark to keep track of the minutes. Please return the bookmarks once a week so we can update the Reading Altitude Chart as to the number of minutes our school has read each week. As the students read the Duke Airplane gains altitude! Students will be informed of the reading progress on the Duke Morning News and on the chart located outside of the cafeteria. We will also update the website each week so parents can see how we are doing!

April is School Library Month
To help celebrate school library month the Duke Media center will run library centers in all media classes with a sampling of the many wonderful activities that happen in the media center. For example, some of the activities will include robots, Makey Makeys, Makerspace, Breakout Boxes, book and iPad activities. We will have a photo booth where students can take a photo with their favorite book and many more fun activities. Ask your student about the fun activities in their media class!
