Weekly Reminders
Week 4 Term 1 - Week Commencing Monday 20th February 2023

Dear Families
Family Picnic
Thank you to all who are attending the Family Picnic this afternoon. A big thank you for all the hard work of the staff and P&F in preparation for such a big event. Thank you to Woolworths Livingston and Bunnings Harrisdale for their generous donations.
Ash Wednesday & Project Compassion
Each year, Project Compassion comes as a timely reminder of the importance of solidarity and how a single act of kindness, whether big or small, can make a life-changing impact in the lives of those who need it most.
The theme of Project Compassion in 2023 is ‘For All Future Generations’. This phrase is a powerful affirmation that the good that we do today will extend and impact the lives of generations to come. It is also a call for all of us to play our part in making the world a better place by working together as sisters and brothers in finding long-term solutions to global issues.
Please join us for Ash Wednesday Mass at 9am this Wednesday in the Church led by our Year 5 students.
Two Way Interviews
Two way interviews will be held in Weeks 7 and 8 of this term from Monday 13th March to Friday 24th March. Information on how to book an interview with the teachers will be provided next week in the Weekly Reminders.
School Photos
MSP Photography will be taking our school photos on Tuesday 28th February and Wednesday 1st March. Please see below for the draft timetable. On their photo day, students are to wear the everyday St Emilie's uniform.
Open Day & School Tours
We are offering School Tours to prospective families who wish to enrol their children at St Emilie's on Thursday 30th March. If you know any families who would be interested in this, please see below for more information and share the QR code for those families to book via Eventbrite.
Kindy Enrolments for 2024
If you have a child who will be going into Kindy next year (born between 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020), please ensure you submit an Enrolment Form application to the office as soon as possible. An application for enrolment can be collected from the front office or by visiting the School Website. Interviews will be held early in Term 2.
Year Group Reps for 2023
If would like to be a P&F year group rep for 2023, please email pandf@stemiliescps.wa.edu.au with your name and the year level you are interested in being a rep for.
2023 Student Residential Address and Other Information
The Student Residential Address and Other Information Collection informs Australian Government school education policy and helps ensure funding for non-government schools is based on need. The information collected will be used to inform school funding calculations. It is combined with Australian Bureau of Statistics data to calculate a non-government school community’s capacity to contribute to schooling costs. Please see below for an information sheet on this.
NAPLAN
The 2023 NAPLAN assessments will be conducted this term in Week 7 and 8 from the 15th March to the 20th March. An information pamphlet has been sent home today with all Year 3 and 5 students.
Sacramental Commitment Masses
Enrolment forms for children receiving a Sacrament were available from the Church foyer from the weekend of the 4th and 5th of February. The completed forms are to be brought to the Sacramental Commitment Masses on the weekends of the 11th/12th of February and the 18th/19th of February.
Parenting Article
This week under the Parent Reading heading, we have included an Insights article titled, 'School belonging starts at home' by Dr Kelly-Ann Allen. At the end of the day, it’s about being there for your child. When a child feels like they can come to you for support and advice in their everyday lives, that feeling will extend to support for school. A sense of belonging at home, in the community, and at school can do wonders for your child’s academic engagement and achievement.

Stuart Munro
