Lunch Visitation
We know that many of our families have enjoyed the opportunity to eat lunch with their student(s). However, due to safety and space limitations in some of our schools, district administration has made the difficult decision to keep our student lunches closed to all outside guests at this time.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and encourage you to look for other opportunities to engage with your student(s), their class, and our schools. There are many ways to get involved! If you have any questions or concerns, contact Jimmie Lake, Chief Operations Officer, at 317-594-4100 or jlake@hse.k12.in.us

Attendance, Tardies and Appointments . . . oh my!
Just a few reminders.
- If your child will not be at school for the day please call them in to the attendance line before the start of the school day.
- If your child will be tardy due to an appointment, please call them in to the attendance line before the start of the day. This allows us to notify teachers and make the approiate adjustments.
- The school day starts promptly at 7:40am. Please make sure that your child is in the building by 7:35am to ensure they can get to their classroom in time. If your child is a car rider and you arrive after 7:40am you will need to walk your child in to the building and sign them in. Please make every effort to have your child to school on time!
- If your child has an appointment during the day and will need to leave early please call this in to the school. Please do not mark this in School Dismissal Manager. School Dismissal Manager is only to be used for end of day transportation, not early dismissal.
- If your child will be participating in a club or after school activity please make sure you are changing this in School Dismissal Manager for the approiate days. If a childs dismissal is not updated we will send them home according to their setting for that day.

A Note From Our Nurse
Because sometimes we all just need a little TLC ❤
With free breakfast not being offered to all students this year, I’ve seen an increase in kiddos coming to the clinic with belly aches...most commonly related to missing breakfast. I want all families to know I’ve been keeping a stash of granola bars (organic, nut free, non GMO, and gluten free) for these exact moments. Whether it’s a busy morning and there’s no time or it’s a difficult week to buy breakfast, I want you to know its okay and they won’t go hungry.
With that being said, I’ve had parents in the past offer to supply some snacks for this very scenario. If you ever want to donate some to the clinic please feel free to reach out to me. I can let you know what options are safe to buy – the clinic has to stay an allergy friendly zone.
Speaking of TLC, sometimes my ice packs are a hot commodity for the kiddos. Have any of your students brought home one of my reusable ice packs by chance? I’m missing a couple, so the clinic is running low while my new box of them are on back order 😬 If you could check backpacks and remind them to bring them back to me (if they have one), I’d so appreciate it! Ice packs fix so many boo boos ❤

Discovery!!!
Dear BSE Families,
It has been such a pleasure to meet and begin working with your wonderful children. We have already completed some STEM challenges and I am blown away by their creativity and problem-solving skills. I look forward to the rest of the year as we learn and grow together.
In order to complete some of the projects I have planned for the year, I am requesting donations of consumable materials that will get used by all of our BSE students. If you are able, please consider sending these items in with your students.
Kindergarten – crayons
1st grade – colored pencils
2nd grade – markers
3rd grade – masking tape and/or glue sticks
4th grade – construction paper
I also have an Amazon Wish List for books and other supplemental materials which I will update periodically -

ParentSquare
Hamilton Southeastern Schools has launced ParentSquare for school communications for the 2022-2023 school year. ParentSquare allows us to communicate with students, staff, and families via email, text, and app notifications.
At this time ParentSquare does not have the ability for you to message a teacher directly. If you need to reach out to your student's teacher we encourage you to do that via their email address.
Lost and Found
We already have items in our lost and found with no names on them. Please label all water bottles, lunch boxes, jackets, etc. with student's first and last names so that we can return lost items to students. If your student is missing an item please have them check the lost and found table.
