Charge iPads Nightly- PLEASE
We have had several students that are coming to school with iPads that are nearly dead. This should be one of the tasks your child should do each evening. Please help your child get into the routine of charging their iPad each night. Your child will need their device charged to full capacity each day.
Please have your child bring their charger to school each day. The iPads are getting older and many drain quickly. We appreciate your help in this matter.
Masks Wearing Continues
We will continue to follow TEA Guidelines for social distancing and mask-wearing. GCISD will continue to communicate with parents through email, social media, and the district website.
Please help us by making sure that your child's mask fits their face properly and comfortably. It should cover the nose and mouth with minimal gaping.
Please place an extra mask in a plastic bag in their backpack.
Thank you so much for your help!
Yellow Car Signs are a MUST HAVE
If you do not have a yellow OCT-issued car sign please email a second-grade teacher asap. Drivers without a yellow car sign will be required to pull all the way forward, have their driver's license checked, and the office will make sure that you are on the approved pick-up list.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as this is for the safety of all of our children.

Math Telescope Testing
In order to telescope in math, a student must take a grade-level end-of-course exam and score 90% or higher. For example, a first-grader would take an end-of-course 2nd-grade exam. If that child scored 90% or higher on it, then the next year as a 2nd Grader, that student would take 3rd Grade math. If you are wondering if this could be a good fit for your child, reach out to your child's math teacher to discuss this opportunity. If you choose to move forward with testing, then contact the Assessment Department at GCISD Administration Office (817-251-5524) to schedule and pay for testing.

Take-Home Folders and CR Charts...Initial Nightly
Your child has a take-home folder that "lives" in their backpack. We will send home any necessary papers in this folder. Your child will also have a CR Chart (conduct and responsibility chart). If the square for the day is blank your child had a great day. If there is a teacher note in the box your child will also have a "think sheet" for you to read over, discuss, and sign. Please initial the CR Chart each evening.
