Principal's Message
You may have heard from your child this week that Sequoia is planning a Color Run! In place of our annual field day event, we are planning to do a color run on May 15th. In addition to the color run at the end of the day, we will also offer Zumba at all lunch recess times for our students. This event came out of the work of our Healthy Kid Committee meetings and is an effort to help students see that exercise and doing healthy things for their bodies can be fun and exciting. Thank you to our Sequoia Parents Club for sponsoring our Color Run and for purchasing sunglasses for all our students. Your child is encouraged to wear a white t-shirt that day to enjoy all the color and fun! If you are available to volunteer for this event, please look for the sign up genius coming soon! (This event is not a fundraiser)
Next Friday is Fine Arts Day. We are still looking for volunteer parents to help with this day. You will not be leading any art lessons, rather we need helpers for set up, helping students along the way and clean up. If you can help for any part of the day, please sign up using the link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0f4daeaf22a7f94-sequoias
Don't forget we have a a Dine and Donate at Amy's Drive Thru tonight from 10am-10pm. Drop by and grab a quick bite! 20% of all sales from friends and families at Sequoia will go back to our school. Show the flyer below (print or photo) to the cashier at check out.
Our 3rd and 4th graders will begin state testing next Monday through Thursday in the morning time primarily. We do not want to students to feel stressed about testing so we will do our very best to make it a calm environment with little distractions. Please make every effort to schedule appointments after school during this week and make sure they get a good night of sleep and breakfast in the morning all week.
