Message From the Principal
Welcome back from break. This week we welcomed students back from fall break. We were so excited to see our students again. We had quite a busy week as well. We had fall parties and our LIFT time (LIFT time is our quarterly celebration). We hope to be able to invite parents into school for our next LIFT time next quarter as our bleachers should be installed by then.
We are about to begin a very busy time of the school year as well. Monday is Halloween, again please do not send your students in costumes, we appreciate your assistance with this. Our book fair starts on Wednesday and runs until next Wednesday. On Friday we will have our Grandparents' Breakfast. RSVP forms are due Monday. The event will begin at 8am and end at 8:45am. We will need all visitors to leave by 8:45am so that we will have room for arrival and for all staff to get to their rooms and prepare. During this time, grandparents can do multiple activities with their grandchildren. They may have breakfast in the cafeteria, take pictures in the main hallway, or even shop at the book fair in the library. Grandparents may drop their student off in the gym when they are ready to leave, we will have a movie on for students to watch until school starts.
Students will not have school on 11/8 and can complete digital lessons on their iPad. Their teacher will go over all of the needed information with them and you ahead of time. We have other events on 11/8 as well. It is our fundraiser at the Avon Chuck E Cheese starting at 3pm and going until it closes. We will also hold our November PTO meeting at 5pm in the library. On 11/11 we will have our Veteran's Day program in the gym at 9:30am. There is still time to upload pictures with the form that went out on Parent Square if you had a veteran you would like honored at this event.
Finally, this week we will begin our literacy screener assessment in NWEA for K-2 grades. We are so excited for this fun part of the school year. There are so many awesome events and opportunities, we can't wait to connect with you all!

Culture Guide
E= Events: We cannot control things that happen
R= Response: We can control our response to the event
O=Outcome: Having a proper response will get the desired outcome.
This concept is powerful for all of us. Daily, many things happen that are out of our control. We can lash out or we can pause, think, and then respond. Pausing for reflection allows us to get the outcome that we need and want.
