Criminal Justice at GHS
With assistance from the Sumner County Sheriff's Office, students from Gallatin High School learned the effects of alcohol through the simulated Fatal Vision course. This course puts students behind the wheel of a golf cart, and they are provided with glasses that simulate the vision of an intoxicated individual, while they attempt to navigate through a driving course filled with twists and turns.
In addition to the driving portion, there’s also a strong focus on education. Students learned the Standard Field Sobriety Tasks that law enforcement perform on suspected intoxicated drivers. They all were able to practice these tasks and prepare themselves for future Criminal Justice competitions.
