Music News
Students in the music program are preparing for their Winter Concert on Thursday, February 20 with a little game of "Practice Bingo." They have been given a series of random practice assignments (some are downright silly) to complete before the concert, such as performing a song for the principal, practicing their instrument in the bathroom, playing for a stuffed animal, etc. They can earn rewards for completing five boxes in a row (Bingo!) or the entire sheet (Blackout). Please help out our musicians by offering to be encouraging audiences when needed. The goal is to make practicing fun and exciting again, and to give students many opportunities to perform for an audience before their concert. Stay tuned for details on the Winter Concert.
And don't forget! The 2nd Annual Polenta Feed will be on Saturday, March 28! This event is our big fundraiser for the music program, and we are currently in need of donations and sponsorships. If anyone has any connections at local businesses that would be willing to donate items for our silent auction or raffle or to help sponsor the event, please contact Shannon Duffy at mwef@mwusd.org. We greatly appreciate any support that we can get! Help keep music and the arts alive in our district!
