Principal's Message
Thank you! Thank you team for staying on Friday night to support our students and their families! When we work together for a common goal above and beyond the academic- it's demonstrating goodness in a different way. All we do is connected. Do not take those moments lightly. Always demonstrate courtesy, welcoming atmosphere, and use your voice- your opinion to lift and not denigrate. We are SSE and our calling is greater than an ordinary school. We touch lives, support learners, and work collaboratively to achieve growth.
With that being said, let's work towards always aiming higher and higher to do better than we have done before. The only competition we have is ourselves and the only measure we have is against our own work. I say this because we are in our OWN race. We have just completed 100 days of school. We have less than a 90 days to get to our personal goal. Re-evaluate where you are right now. No excuses. Just move forward and do whatever it takes to reach our goals.
This Tuesday, I have the honor of attending Mike Mattos and taking along April & Rashmi to join. Some of us have already seen him in Atlanta and others in San Antonio. I will be sending another group to San Antonio to the Solution Tree training this summer. So if you are interested in being considered, please look out for a forthcoming email soon.
Who is Mike Mattos? Watch the video to get a little more about what he is all about. Let's get tight about what exactly kids need to learn and then let's get tight about how they are going to learn it so they are successful. If you aren't seeing the results- then you need to reanalyze what you are doing. Get yourself some help. We have a lot of folks helping.
However- when you ask for help, you are asking for them to train you how. Because you are the only key to the how. You are the MEAT in the main course meal. The intervention, the coaches, the CARE team, they are all just the condiments or the side dishes. YOU are the #1 influence in your student's success.
Hang on for the ride friends. We are going to be RELENTLESS and FIERCE. So put your game face on. We are going to finish the year like rock stars.
See you bright and early. NO tardies. I'm saving that conversation face-to-face.
May you enjoy this beautiful week with love, learning, and joy for sharing the light you were gifted.
Wildcat Love and respect,
Rachel Martinez
