Message from the Principal
Welcome to 2016! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday recess. As you already know, we continue to use the Common Core Standards in all of our core content subject areas. The standards are more challenging particularly in the areas of Language Arts and Mathematics. There are many ways that we can teach our kids the literacy skills they need to acquire and master. Reading and sharing stories with our kids is a great way to develop reading skills and help build a strong vocabulary. Cooking and baking with your children is a great way to introduce number concepts and provide real-life examples of how math impacts out life. Keeping a journal fosters writing and gives children a medium to be creative and expressive. We need to continue nurturing and providing the support they need to be happy and successful in school. Thank you for your continued support in all of our endeavors to ensure your child's academic success.
Sincerely,
Mr. Scanapieco
