- Mary Beth Tift from Vanderbilt spoke to the BCA seniors on Tuesday, October 20th regarding their college application process. Vanderbilt looks at your application as a whole, including student involvement, course rigor, GPA, letters of recommendation, and SAT or ACT scores. The higher your grades and standardized test scores are, the more important your letters of recommendation and admission essay become because they help distinguish you from other high achieving students. Although Vanderbilt has a relatively high cost of attendance, Vanderbilt meets 100% of demonstrated need for all students. More than 60% of their current students receive financial assistance.
