The 2022 Walk-A-Thon is only 2 weeks away! This year the Walk-A-Thon will take place at Jay Stream on Friday, September 9 and will begin at approximately 2:15 pm with the 2 mile Jayhawk Jaunt. The Jaunt is open to anyone who would like to participate. The all-school walk will begin immediately following the conclusion of the Jaunt.

All students will receive a prize for collecting money and working together with their advisory on this fun event. Please see the sponsorship levels below for specific prizes:

• $15 = 2 pieces of candy
• $25 = 1 grab out of the Level 1 Money Box!
• $75 = 1 grab out of the Level 2 Money Box and Level 2 Money Box!
• $100 =Catered Portillo's lunch with the principal!

We had some big student winners at first cash pull this past Friday! There will be more drawings on Friday, Sept 2 and Thursday, Sept 8 for qualifying students. Student pledges can be made online through 99 pledges or turned in with the paper form and donations to their advisory teacher.

All of the money raised will be used to provide additional programs & activities for our students: Assemblies, Special events for 6th, 7th and 8th graders, Team/Club celebrations, and much more!

Jay Stream is a PBIS (Positive, Behavioral, Intervention & Supports) school. Staff at Jay Stream hand out Jaybucks to students as a way to reinforce our school-wide expectations - Respectful, Responsible, Safe - and recognize students who meet our expectations. Students save their Jaybucks and redeem them for various items like food, passes, toys, posters, and more.

This year staff will hand out Jaybucks digitally through a program called PBIS Rewards. All students with have their own account, similar to a bank account. If you have a moment, ask your student to show you their account. You would be able to see which teacher recognized your student and you may be able to read what your student was doing to earn the Jaybuck. This online program is new for all students and staff this school year.

Get ready! All parents and guardians will have access to their student's standards and scores for each class on TeacherEase beginning September 6.

Please consider joining Jay Stream's PTA for the 2022-2023 school year! The PTA plays a major role in your student's experience at Jay Stream. Just this past year, the PTA sponsored celebrations for sports teams, clubs, and musical, rented inflatables for the end of year celebration, provided monthly staff appreciation treats, contributed towards 8th grade Main Event trip, and organized the 8th grade dance.
