Can You Dig It?
A Day Devoted to Outdoor Learning Is On Its Way!
A Sit-and-Get This Is Not!
Dear 1st Grade Teachers:
On September 26th, some dynamic facilitators from Project Wild and Project Learning Tree will be here to share their passion for environmental education with us. Both curricula get kids outside moving, playing, and exploring nature - just like they ought to be doing!
This professional learning opportunity gets us outside, too! Please dress for the weather, knowing we’ll be outside for a sizable chunk of the day.
The facilitators and I will address ways in which these curricula are compatible with The Michigan Science Standards. (The GLCE died a slow, painful death, in case you hadn’t heard.) We'll also clarify how Project "Outside" fits within our overall plan for science.
A light breakfast and full lunch from Planet Sub will be provided.
Secure a guest teacher as soon as possible, please, using the code K-5 Curriculum.
A special thank you to the Clarkston Farm & Garden Club for funding this fun day of science learning.
