The district had previously shared a wide assortment of online instructional resources to continue providing students with instructional continuity during the initial one-week Spring Break extension. Now that the extension will continue through April 3rd, we wanted to help you by reducing the amount of free materials out there and make a more informed selection to use with your child. We understand it can be a little overwhelming, so the Judson ISD Curriculum & Instruction Department wants to target the resources to only those that Judson ISD commonly uses and that your child may already be familiar with in class. We believe this will help you and your student.
As this extension continues, your student's teacher and principal will continue to be in contact with your student. In fact, high schools will be conducting online instruction via Google Classroom, while middle and elementary schools will be distributing packets at their campus via curbside on Wednesday, March 25th from 9-11 am. We know that it is important to consider low tech solutions because not every household has multiple devices for several children. Please continue to monitor the Judson ISD website for updated information regarding COVID-19 and continued learning.
As of March 16, 2020, Governor Greg Abbott announced that he has waived the state testing requirement known as STAAR. Nonetheless, we know that your child's learning and safety always remains a priority, so our district teachers will continue to provide your child with the best possible remote learning via various mediums, including email, google classroom, take-home packets, etc. We thank you for your patience as we partner with you in ensuring your child receives a great education! For now, please enjoy these specific resources that have been vetted by our Curriculum and Instruction Specialists.
Sincerely,
The Judson C&I Team
