Updated "Should I Come to School Today" FLOWCHART
A few of the highlights on the updated guidance documents include:
1. The additional option for returning from quarantine after 7 days with a negative COVID PCR test. You will note this option, per IDPH guidance, is only available for adults.
2. The addition of "loss of taste and/or smell" and "congestion" (with descriptors) in the Symptoms box.
3. Clarification that only PCR COVID tests provide the necessary clearance necessary as described throughout the Flowchart.
4. Clarification that a rapid test result of negative does not provide relief to return to school while an outstanding PCR test result has not yet been received.
5. Definition clarification language that "Close Contact" is unchanged whether or not masks have been worn.
6. Clarifying language on how quarantine requirements are determined for members of a household in the instance of a COVID positive case.
Save the Date: MAP Testing!
‘Tis the season for our next round of MAP testing, and we’re going about it a bit differently this winter for our older grades in the efforts t0 maximize classroom instructional minutes while maintaining this valuable measure of growth and progress. Please mark your calendars, as we will use the week of February 1st - 5th to test 3rd - 5th grade students OUTSIDE of their regular school day. Kindergarten and first grade students do not take the MAP test, and our 2nd graders will take their MAP tests in the classroom with their teachers during the course of their regular school day.
All 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will return to school during their remote learning portion of the day: AM students will come back to Field Park for a testing window in the afternoon during one of those weekdays, and PM students will come to school for a testing window one morning. Additionally, all 3rd - 5th graders will come to school for a two-hour testing window on Friday, ⅖, during the Remote Learning Planning Day.
More logistical details and an overview of the rationale for this innovative approach will be forthcoming in the next week, including your child’s specific testing schedule and next steps if your child is unable to attend the assigned testing session. Thank you!
