FEBRUARY UPDATES

WVEC TITLE III CONSORTIUM

REGIONAL PLANNING MEETINGS

We held one regional meeting this week. Thank you to those who attended!

We have two remaining meetings open for you to participate in. We will meet on March 17th at WVEC and on April 7th at Hobart High School.

At these meetings, we will share will important information regarding the EL T.O.R. Rubric, funding for coursework and the SIOP Train the Trainer Series.

The meetings will be from 9-noon at each location. It is suggested that you bring someone from your district that is in a decision making role as these requirements could impact budgets and other important planning issues.

The agenda for the meetings is below:

  • Introductions/networking
  • IDOE - Update on EL T.O.R. and answer any questions you have
  • Tami - Provide update on coursework, the EL T.O.R. and what pieces the consortium can help with, and provide sample plans for getting your staff trained as needed.
  • Lori North or Brenda Ward, Regional EL Coaches for the Consortium, will share information on the SIOP Train the Training PD, as well as answer any questions you might have.

PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE LOCATION THAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU:

March 17 - WVEC (WL)

April 7 - Hobart HS (Hobart)

April 21 - Region 8 (Fort Wayne)

COURSEWORK REIMBURSEMENT FROM IDOE

As a piece of the EL T.O.R., all candidates will need to take at least one course if they have not already taken a language related course in the past. We are still working to be able to provide graduate credits with the PD we offer, but just in case...it would be wise for you to apply for the IDOE Title III Coursework Reimbursement. Here is more information on how to apply for reimbursement from IDOE. Read the memo closely.....the deadline is soon!!

SIOP Train the Trainer SERIES!!
