Freshmen Miller CTE Tour
Miller Career & Technology Center is inviting all freshmen to tour their campus and learn about their programs offered during students’ junior and/or senior year. Mayde Creek will take interested 9th graders to tour Miller Career & Technology Center on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.
If you would like your son/daughter to participate, please have your child pick up a Katy ISD Field Trip Form from the 9th Grade Counselor’s Office. The permission form must be turned into the Mayde Creek High School 9th Grade Counselor’s Office by Tuesday, November 2, 2021. In order to attend, your child MUST submit a signed permission form. Permission forms will only be accepted in person. Due to the large size of the freshman class, space for the field trip is limited and priority will be given in the order permission forms are turned into the Counselor’s Office. Attention Parents and Guardians
Recently, the Texas Education Agency implemented new guidance regarding accelerated instruction for students who did not pass STAAR grades 3-8 or EOC assessments during the 2020-2021 school year. Students will have a variety of ways to receive their accelerated instruction through selected courses, tutorials before or after school, advisory, Saturday camps, and/or specific online resources. Students who did not participate in state assessment during the 20-21 school year, will have an opportunity to participate in an assessment designed to show grade level proficiency on the TEKS. However, students may still participate in the accelerated instruction.
Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Jennifer Beck, our Student Support Assistant Principal, if you have specific questions regarding your student.
