Winter 3
A Message from Principal Callaghan
Dear Parents & Guardians,
I hope this note finds you and your family doing well and that you have been enjoying the nicer, sunnier weather this week. Let's hope it's a sign of good things to come.
When families have positive perspectives about their child's education, there are significant benefits for students, educators, and families. Students demonstrate more positive attitudes toward school and learning, higher achievement, and have a greater participation in academic activities. This is something that we can all agree on.
In the midst of the pandemic, with its numerous challenges that we all have felt and persevered through, the commitment to our students' learning, growth, and development has been a shared goal that has guided our efforts throughout the school year. This common goal is an ongoing key focus on a daily basis.
Parents and educators working together toward shared goals with specific responsibilities is the essential characteristic of effective home-school collaboration. Educators, families and community members working together to understand each other's perspective is what successful home-school collaboration depends upon. Open, respectful communication is critical in order for educators and families to comprehend and respect those perspectives.
If you or your child ever have a question regarding any aspect of the child's learning, please don't hesitate to contact his/her teacher. Clearing up a question early in the process can lead to a swift resolution. As a high schooler, your child can try on their own to reach out to the teacher first.
Again, the relationship between school and home has to be collaborative in order to maximize students' potential and achievement. I trust we can all agree on this.
According to Lunar New Year traditions, this is the year of the Metal Ox. The ox is very hardworking and methodical. 2021 is going to be a year when work will get rewarded. Please continue to have faith in the process to make improvements in the learning through the spring, as well as respect for all the efforts extended by students, educators and families.
Best wishes for a safe and healthy Spring.
Take Care,
Mr. Brian Callaghan

- Since November last year, we have collected over 800 pounds of film plastics which would otherwise have ended in landfills, water bodies or the oceans.
- They very much appreciate volunteers (both Rotary Club members or non-memebrs) to help out with the large amount of plastics at site. Here is a link to the Sign-up Genius to sign up and help out:
