Graduation Ticket Information
This year families of each graduate in the class of 2020 will receive four (4) tickets for guests to attend our graduation ceremony that is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, 2010 at DAR-Constitution Hall. While graduates do not need a ticket (their caps and gowns will get them in) every guest over the age of 1 will require a ticket to attend the event.
For families that will require additional tickets we will be collecting request via an online form where families can request up to 5 additional tickets for the ceremony. Tickets will be distributed on a first come-first serve basis. The form can be accessed here and will start accepting responses at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, February 10, 2020 and will be available through Friday, February 28, 2020. Once you submit your request you will receive an email confirming your request. (You can not use a student’s mcpsmd.net account for this) Families will be notified of the number of additional tickets they will receive by email in early March.
For families who do not need all four allocated tickets, you can also fill out the form above and note how many tickets you will need. We will re-distribute tickets from families do not need to those who have requests for additional tickets.
Students will receive all of their tickets on May 22, 2020 during the senior clearance and cap and gown distribution event.
Please also remember that all graduates are expected to attend the June 1, 2020 graduation rehearsal that will start at 7:45 a.m. in the auditorium.

Three PSA Video Contests Open to Secondary Students
Deadlines are approaching this February for three public service announcement (PSA) video contests open to Montgomery County students in Grades 6–12. Details are listed below.
Students are encouraged to create an original video PSA as part of the county’s anti-vaping campaign. Co-sponsored by MCPS and Healthy Montgomery, the county’s community health improvement program, the goal of the contest is to promote awareness of the dangers of vaping (the use of e-cigarettes or Juul). The submission deadline has been extended to Friday, February 14.
Students can enter the contest on their own or as a group; however, students may only participate in one entry. Cash prizes will be given to the first place, second place, and third place entries. Find out more about entry rules and submission instructions on the Healthy Montgomery website.
The Keeping it SAFE Coalition: Under Twenty-One Alcohol Prevention Coalition is sponsoring a video contest to create a 30-second public service message addressing the risks and dangers of under 21 alcohol use.
The contest is open to teams of two or more students enrolled in Montgomery County middle and high schools. Cash prizes of $100 to $1,000 are up for grabs to the winning teams. Entries are due by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28. Visit this webpage for more information and official contest rules.
The 11th Annual Montgomery County RespectFest video PSA contest challenges middle and high school students to create an original 60-second public service announcement video to promote awareness of dating abuse and domestic violence among teens. Students may enter on their own or as a group. The top three videos win cash prizes (first prize gets $1,000). The submission deadline is Friday, February 28. More information can be found here.
