ASVAB Testing

The ASVAB Career Exploration Program encourages students to explore a wide variety of careers. The acronym stands for Student Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). A member of the U.S Office of Personnel Management will be administering the ASVAB to interested students here at Lakeland High School on February 25, 2016 from 7:30-10:30am.

The assessment covers areas such as: General Science, Arithmetic Reasoning, Work Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Mathematics Knowledge, Electronic Information, Auto and Shop Information and Mechanical Comprehension. From this exam students can use the results to identify areas in which they excel and areas where they may need to focus more effort. Results will be interpreted at Lakeland High School in the LGI on Tuesday March 1st during 2nd hour (8:18am). Parents/Guardians are encouraged to attend the the interpretation with their student (please sign-in/out with main office).

**The assessment DOES NOT register the student for the armed forces. If the student does choose to enter the military following graduation, the results are considered current for up to two years from the date the test was taken.

For more information or to register for the ASVAB please contact Ms. Creed in the Career Center or by email at lauren.creed@hvs.org
