~Internship~
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 27, 2023
NEWS RELEASE
TDS Telecom offering unique summer internship in Northern Colorado
Individuals 16 and older can learn telecommunications trade
TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) is looking for individuals in Northern Colorado over 16 years old who would like to test out an interesting and rewarding career. The Field Service Technician (FST) Internship Program is a paid internship that provides people on-the-job-training in the telecommunications industry.
The FST program matches interns with mentors who teach them about our cutting edge, fiber-to-the-home technology as well as the importance of great customer service. Interns assist with on-site installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance activities of telecommunications products, services, and equipment provided to TDS Telecom customers. Apply and learn more about this opportunity at: Careers - TDS Telecom - Field Services Internship in Berthoud, Colorado | Careers at TDS Corporate (icims.com)
“This internship is a worthwhile experience for young adults who are looking for something different,” said Kit Beyer, director of External Affairs and Communications. “The program gives these interns a taste of a fulfilling position at a leading-edge technology company.”
This is the third summer for the FST internship program. TDS Telecom kicked off the program with a dozen interns in four states. Now the company is looking to hire more than 30 interns across 14 states. Last year, 10 interns enjoyed the job so much they moved into full-time positions.
“We’re proud of the success of this internship program and hope we can attract even more people into it,” said Beyer. “We also have dozens of internships for college students, but this is the only one geared toward young adults and individuals looking for a new career.”
Field Service Technicians generally work Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. local time. Flexible hours and schedules are available, including a start date. Associates ages 18+ scheduled to work 20 or more hours a week have access to medical insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA) options, 401 (K) plan, and sick time benefits. A driver’s license is not required.
TDS is encouraging local schools or community partners to contact the company to learn more on how to get involved and help recruit individuals for this worthwhile opportunity. Interested groups can reach out to Associate Manager of Talent Acquisition Kelly Cromwell at Kelly.Cromwell@tdstelecom.com.
