What we've been up to.
- We had our first writer's workshop and practiced oral storytelling. After reading Ira Sleeps Over and Owen, your students shared many personal stories about sleepy time toys and blankets that are special to them.
- We practiced writing the letter Bb and the numbers 1 and 2. We have been working on our fine motor skills by using scissors too!
- Choices at center time this week included cars and tunnels, alphabet coloring pages, learning to draw a bear and a person, bumble bee crafts, connecting cubes and pattern blocks, and acting out Brown Bear, Brown Bear at both the pocket chart and in Dramatic Play.
- We have practiced getting our math and writing materials independently and we're pretty good at putting them away too. Our teamwork at clean up time has been pretty spectacular :)
- Mr. MacNeal came to read us a story about Kindergarten!
- We've danced aroudnd a lot! News Flash, we have plenty of energy. Our favorite dances so far are Pop See Koo, the Tooty Ta and Baby Shark.
- We wrote about and illustrated our hopes and wishes for kindergarten. Many students are hoping for a class pet or an apple tree art project.

The things kids say. For real.
Mrs. Cohen: What is something you are wishing for this year in kindergarten?
Student 1: I want to get a pet for our class.
Student 2: I want to get a dog.
Mrs. Cohen: We can only have pet that can stay in a small habitat so it can be safe on its' own when we go home after school. How about something small?
Student 3: Can we get a small dog?
