Discovery Center
Light is something you can touch and yet, not really touch. We invited our little ones to engage in playful and serious explorations.
In the future we will be using the vocabulary of light, its properties, and effects. We will learn words like bright, glisten, glow, glimmer, shimmer, soft, shine, sparkly, shadowy, luminous.
Outdoor Fun!
Playing in the dirt may be what first attracts children to gardening, but the process itself can hold their interest. Working side by side in this outdoor area allows us to develop new appreciation - and respect - for each other that will strengthen our relationships in and out of the garden.
We also enjoyed the water and sand tables during this outdoor time!
Self Portraits!
The children looked at themselves in a mirror before starting.
Dramatic Play
Dramatic play permits children to fit the reality of the world into their own interests and knowledge.
One of the purest forms of symbolic thought available to young children, dramatic play contributes strongly to the intellectual development of children.
Symbolic play is a necessary part of a child's language development.
