Tech Talk
Digital Citizenship
As our students get more and more immersed in technology and social media, it is essential that we frequently discuss and remind students about Digital Citizenship. There are many resources, interactive lessons, and activities you can use with students through Commonsense.org under the Digital Citizenship tab. They are available for all grade levels and range from topics such as privacy, digital footprint, and cyber-bullying.
“Digital citizens think critically about what they see online, understand the benefits and risks of sharing information, and balance screen time with other activities. But digital citizens aren't born—they're taught by teachers like you!” -Commonsense.org
Fitness Feature
February is American Heart Month.
What is American Heart Month? The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute answers this question the best with the following statement.
“#OurHearts is a national effort to encourage and motivate people to adopt heart-healthy behaviors, together. Research shows having social support and personal networks makes getting regular physical activity, eating healthy, losing weight, and quitting smoking easier.”

Through the past 12 months and all the challenges that came with it, we truly have relied on each other. We have talked about in PE the importance of health and fitness. We have also talked about the importance of family. As we discuss the importance of a healthy heart this month, we also acknowledge the importance of family to help keep our hearts healthy both inside and out. Remember to take time to exercise as a family. It truly helps the heart in so many ways.
