We would like you to create a trap for next Friday. If you would like to help with some St. Patrick’s Day magic, please send in gold wrapped candy/items to surprise our little friends!
On Monday, author Jerry Pallotta visited our school! He has written over 100 books for children, including 25 alphabet books and lots of science books! It was interesting to learn about his writing process - and he was funny!
Word Wall Words
Pictured above are this week’s new words. Please have your child practice at home. A big thank you to Braelyn for coloring this week’s page.
Below, Braelyn and Grace are playing tic-tac-toe with words.
Matteo and Nasir worked together to complete ending sound puzzles.
Grace is helping to write an interactive writing. Matteo shared that his favorite place to go is Virginia. Mrs. Poston demonstrated how to write “pl” and then Grace wrote it.
Bennett worked hard on his story about the zoo. We make sure our stories have a beginning, middle, and end. We include labels and make sure our illustrations match the words.
In reading we are using our superpowers to solve unknown words!
Aaliyah found rhyming words on this page!
In math we are continuing our practice of doning addition and subtraction problems.
Laila is doing Bumblebee Subtraction. Once an equation card has been selected, the student places the corresponding number of bees on the mat and has the subtracted number of bees go into the hive.
This week we are Ichthyologists (scientists who study fish)! Ask your child what we have learned in science.
Above, the boys are helping check the water to make sure it is healthy for our trout. We are excited to release them on March 31st. Please return the permission slip by next Friday.
Would your child know how to call you if they were lost? Let’s focus on learning a phone number this month.
