Who Is He?
Tim Berners-lee was born on 8 June 1955 and was brought up in London and is a computer scientist who invented the World Wide Web. Also he created the first internet browser and editor this was the world's first website which explained everything about the World Wide Web and how people can create their own websites.
While working at CERN(the European Particle Physics Laboratory in Geneva) he first described the concept of a global system, based on the concept of 'hypertext'(which are basically hyperlinks), that would allow researchers anywhere to share information.
In 1984, Berners Lee's returned to CERN, which was also home to a major European Internet node. In 1989, Berners Lee published a paper called 'Information Management: A Proposal' in which he married up hypertext with the Internet, to create a system for sharing and distributing information not just within a company, but globally and he named it the World Wide Web.
What The CERN Website Looks Like Now.
This website is now about what CERN does and what it has done.
I like the layout of the website as it is simple and clear. It shows that they are more about the content rather than a fancy design.
