This could be used with the science curriculum. Children can gather experience with concepts like gravity and magnetism.

BrainPOP provides animated educational videos that can be used as a supplement in the classroom.
For example this video on cells could be used as a supplement for a science class.

This is a free app that allows students to get creative. It can be used for many projects as an alternative to a written report.
For instance students could create a video blog rather than a written journal.

VoiceThread
Voicethread is another app that allows students to create their own projects as well as allowing them to provide feedback to each other.
Students can be asked to create a Voicethread in order for them to demonstrate their knowledge on a certain concept. This would allow them to be assessed through project work rather than a quiz.
