Welcome Back to School!
Here's a few updates and reminders for the week and year!
Open House was great!
Thank you to all who came! It was great to see some familiar faces and some new ones!
All Students at School on Wednesday!
6th graders started Tuesday and are off to a great start! (2:15 Dismissal Tuesday)
7th & 8th graders start Wednesday, Aug. 16.
3:45 PM Dismissals for all students Wednesday thru Friday.
Picture Day and IDs
Picture Day is Thursday, Aug. 17!
Pictures will be used for IDs and families can order pictures online, too. Ordering info is below.
Students can wear their old IDs until this year's are made. If they don't have an ID, a temporary one will be given.
Computer Protection Plan
Pay $10 online just in case the computer breaks!
(Each incident will cost, but it is less expensive than replacing the computer or parts of it.)

Drop off and Pick up
Drop off
Doors open at 7:30 (do not arrive any earlier as there is not supervision before 7:30).
Each grade will wait in respective areas (and they can eat school breakfast while they wait!). Please drop off in the following locations (and students will wait in the following areas):
6th grade: Door 23 into the cafeteria on the east side (students wait in the cafeteria)
7th grade: Door 8 on the west side (north of main entrance) (students wait in the new gym)
8th grade: Door 3 on the west side (near the auditorium and old gym) (students will wait in the old gym)
Pick up
6th grade: on east side (cafeteria side)
7th & 8th grade: on west side (near main entrance)
Students who walk or ride home are asked to leave right away.
Busing is available! See below!
School Day Hours
The school day is from 8:15 - 3:45 PM.
Doors will open at 7:30 AM. Do not have students arrive earlier as there will not be supervision. Free Grab n Go breakfast will be served from 7:30 - 8:05 AM.
School day ends at 3:45 PM. Students need to be picked up by 4:00 PM (unless staying for an activity, event or practice).
Bus Routes
District bus routes can be found HERE.
Students being dropped off from the bus will enter the following doors:
7:20 arrivals drops off at door 23. Students will wait until 7:30 and then go to respective waiting locations (see above).
After 7:30 arrivals will drop off at door 3 and students will go to respective waiting locations (see above).
Meals
Breakfast
Breakfast is FREE for all Barr students and is served as "Grab n Go" so students can eat it while they wait for school to start. It is served from 7:30-8:05 AM each school day.
ParentVUE and StudentVUE
Synergy VUE
You will want to keep informed of schedules, grades, etc. in the ParentVUE (HERE) or StudentVUE (HERE). Make sure you have your account set up. If you need help, please call the office (308.385.5875).
You will be able to see student teams and schedules as of Aug. 4, but please know we are still working on some of these details and information might change. Schedules will be ready on Aug. 14, by Open House time!
You will be able to access the schedule online or pick up a paper copy at Open House.
Dress Code & Cell Phones
District Dress Code
Please follow the Dress Code. Details are below. Here are some quick guidelines:
- Keep covered from top of chest to mid-thigh
- Keep undergarments covered
- Hats and hoods need to stay off or down
- Anything with profanity, alcohol, drugs/Illegal substances, gangs, etc. is not allowed
- IDs need to be worn everyday!
Cell Phones
Cell phones aren't needed at school. Students will keep them in their locker.
School Supplies
What to bring
While not required, you can bring school supplies for the year. Here's the list of what to bring:
- pens: red, blue, and black
- pencils
- eraser
- highlighters
- colored pencils or markers
- 3 packages of loose-leaf notebook paper
- 1 inch binder
- 2 composition notebooks
- 1 subject spiral notebook
- Headphones (with wires)
- Black dry erase markers
