Success Criteria
- I can develop a strategy to complete the real life mask task.
- I can use mathematical processes such as rounding, estimation, addition, subtraction, or multiplication to solve the problem presented.
- I can set up an Excel Spreadsheet in a logical and consistent way to represent my data.
- I can add formulas to assist me with solving the problem presented.
- I can create chart to visually interpret the information in my spreadsheet.
Task
1) You have $150.00 dollars to spend for school clothes. You will need at least two outfits and a pair of shoes.
2) Use your knowledge of rounding decimals to the nearest dollar, money, and your powers of estimation, to choose as many items on the Clothes Shopping Price List as you can without going over the $150.00 limit.
3) Use the Student Handout to plan and explain your thinking as you work through this task
3) Create an online Excel spreadsheet with all your chosen items and their prices.
4) Use a formula (SUM) to calculate the total expenses for your items. If you purchase more than one of an item you will need to do a calculation that multiplies before you add it to your total.
5) Don't forget to add the sales tax. You can calculate this at .10
5) Create a bar or column chart of your expenses.
6) Fit everything on ONE printable page.
7) Get a share link for your worksheet and paste into the turn in form.
