CAASPP is Starting
CAASPP has already started for a few schools, and will be starting for the rest of the district towards the end of April. During this time, testing schedules should be prioritized and interruptions minimized.
CVUSD CAASPP Testing Schedule
***PRINCIPALS: Prepare your site's Chromebooks by having teachers boot them and go all the way to opening a Secure Browser. If they can get in, then the Chromebooks are ready for CAASPP testing! If there are problems, create an IssueTrak ticket.

Social Media and Leadership
Are you using Social Media for your school or department?
Often times for educators and schools, social media is the thorn in our side. We hear and read about our schools or staff that are portrayed with complaints and negativity on Facebook or Tweets. As a result, social media is not as widely embraced as a tool for leadership and communication. However, the fact is that in today's world, Social Media is being readily used by our student and parent communities as it has replaced more traditional forms of communication and the transfer of information.
Here are a couple articles that can help reshape or refine your views and uses of Social Media as an educator to help support your leadership.

Public Records - Email, documents, texting and more
Did you know that all of the work that you type, write, and even text are considered public documents? These are all request-able through the Public Records Act and they are also protected under the Public Records Act so you should not delete them. The best practice is to use your emails/texts as if they are going in the newspaper.

New Technology is coming your way!
New replacement tech hardware - projectors, doc cameras, laptops, and some CB carts are coming soon. I've been able to meet with school sites regarding your needs. Be on the lookout as the Tech Department will be communicating with you to prioritize the technology to go to where it is needed most. If you have questions, please email Greg.
Chromebook @Home End of Year Returns
As the end of the school year is around the corner, remember that students that are graduating or leaving CVUSD will need to turn in their @Home Chromebooks. Keep this on your radar and inform staff that can help monitor outgoing students.
