AMCMS Principal's Office
What is going on in the Principal's Office?
My Challenge to You
Melissa McCarthy is doing what she loves, protecting the environment. You are doing what you love, teaching students. You became an educator to help students to succeed, to gain an education, to have the tools they need to succeed in life and to live a better life. We all did. I know that is why I became an educator.
Just like Melissa is trying to help the whales, trees, ice caps, and rhinos, you are trying to help your students. And just like Melissa being beat down by the very things she is trying to help, sometimes it feels like we are being down by the politics and constraints that surround education. I know there are times that I feel that way.
When you feel that way I need you to Keep Fighting and Please Don't Give Up. You are making a difference in the lives of your students. Even when you do not see it, you are making a difference.
You are ALL Education Heroes!
Think. Achieve. Succeed.
Jeff

AMCMS SPED Tip of the Week
Every Day Is An Opportunity
Sometimes we get frustrated while teaching. Sometimes it's with a student. Sometimes it's with maybe 2 or more students. But it is our job as adults to be the adult in all situations regarding our students. Have you ever had your frustration with a situation or with a student's behavior flow over into the way you interact with the student? What do your regular interactions with your students with problem behaviors look like? Are you ever so focused on getting through the lesson or maintaining control in the classroom environment that your interactions with students suffer?

Academic Tip of the Week
Try This:
Ask the student to be the leader of a small group activity if he/she possesses mastery or an interest in the activity.
Wellness Tip of the Week
Building a community of people who can help you through life’s ups and downs is a vital step towards happiness and good health. Invest in relationships that provide encouragement and accountability to both parties.
Technology Tip of the Week
Control Z is a great keyboard shortcut. CTRL Z is undo. Are you worried about what that button will do to your document? Go ahead give it a try. If you don't like it simply Control Z and it is undone. Kind of like an eraser with it the messy eraser shavings!
