Education Matters at Jacquet
Staff, Parents, Community.....We Are One!
Jacquet promotes Suicide Prevention Week
One of the most helpful and effective ways we can observe Suicide Prevention Week is by raising awareness of it. We need to reduce the stigma around it and raise awareness so that more and more people can reach out for help. Most of the people suffering from poor mental health do not reach out for help for fear of being judged or misunderstood. So we need to look out for others and check for warning signs. We need to help people feel heard and understood. Special thanks to Ms. Overstreet, Ms. Hart, Ms. Rudd and Ms. Hunnicutt providing awareness and keeping our scholars engaged about suicide prevention.

Staff members and scholars wear the color green to promote Mental Health Awareness. Mental illness awareness means bringing down the walls of stigma by sharing our experiences, stories, and truths. It means educating others on what mental illness REALLY is, and helping those with illnesses know they are not alone.
Great Minds Come Together for Our Scholars
Teachers prepare for close reading during their homeroom class. Anchor charts are very helpful in assisting scholars while reading text. Close reading is thoughtful, critical analysis of a text that focuses on significant details or patterns in order to develop a deep, precise understanding of the text's form, craft, meanings, etc. It directs the reader's attention to the text itself.
Jacquet Scholars excel in their studies for the 1st six weeks and others receive perfect attendance
After each six-week grading period is completed, Jacquet recognizes all scholars who have maintained an "all-A” average or an “A/B” average for the six-week period. We also give recognition to those scholars receiving perfect attendance. Take a look at the scholars who achieved the honor in the most recent grading period.
Scholars complete a lab assignment in Ms. Lewis's class
Scholars utilize sodium bicarbonate, calcium chloride, and phenol red to observe the process of the chemicals reacting to one another. Scholars jotted down their results and collaborated with their peers on their findings.

Please help us ensure safety PARENTS
Please ensure your scholar comes to school with a mask. We have a limited supply and Covid cases have continued to rise. We want to ensure every scholar is safe.
Stay Safe
- Wear cloth face coverings, at a minimum, at all times when around coworkers or the general public.
- Frequently wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. When soap and running water are not immediately available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% ethanol or 70% isopropanol as active ingredients and rub hands together until they are dry. Always wash hands that are visibly soiled.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
- Practice good respiratory etiquette, including covering coughs and sneezes or coughing/sneezing into your elbow/upper sleeve.
- Avoid close contact (within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period) with people who are visibly sick and practice physical distancing with coworkers and the public.
- Stay home if sick.
- Recognize personal risk factors. According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),, certain people, including older adults and those with underlying conditions such as heart or lung disease, chronic kidney disease requiring dialysis, liver disease, diabetes, immune deficiencies, or obesity, are at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19
