WHAT IS THE ISSUE?
The LGBTQ rights issue is for all LGBTQ members to create a just society no matter the race or income. this society works to build a country where people in the community of LGBTQ can openly without discrimination. All members would have equal rights, personal autonomy, and freedom of expression and association.
WHY IS THE ISSUE CONTROVERSIAL?
WHAT DOES DONALD TRUMP PLAN TO DO ABOUT THIS ISSUE?
Donald trump doesn't support marriage equality but he knows there is nothing he can do about it do to the fact that the supreme court issued the rights for LGBTQ in most states. Donald trump states:
"As your president, I will do everything in my power to protect the LGBTQ community from violent and oppressed hate of foreign ideology.
Donald Trump believes that when it comes to public restrooms the restaurants should choose which restroom people should use.
WHAT DO REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS PLAN TO DO ABOUT THIS ISSUE?
WHAT DOES HILLARY CLINTON PLAN TO DO ABOUT THIS ISSUE?
If president Hillary Clinton will fight for the LGBTQ members to feel safe across the United States. She states that she will:
1.fight for full federal equality for the LGBTQ community
2.support LGBTQ youth, parents, and elders
3.honor the military service of LGBTQ people
4.fight for AIDS-free generation
5.protect transgender rights
6.promote human rights of LGBTQ people around the world
Throughout Hillary's career she has been an advocate for the LGBTQ rights. she was able to enforce an anti-disruption regulation within the state department.
WHAT DO DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS PLAN TO DO ABOUT THIS ISSUE?
Democrats ion congress plan to protect the LGBTQ community from discrimination in:
1.housing
2.workplaces
3.schools
4.public accommodations
The measure have been in the works for a long time to attempt to get traction where a more narrowly tailored LGBTQ workplace nondiscrimination bill.
Jeff Merkley:
“A majority of states in our country do not have laws that protect LGBT individuals against discrimination.”
Four times this year a majority of GOP-controlled senate has voted for the LGBTQ rights legislation, but they were unable to receive the sixty votes needed.
WHAT ORGANIZATIONS ARE TRYING TO FIX THIS ISSUE?
Human Rights organization believes in the LGBTQ rights act for that reason they are helping the LGBTQ community to get the rights they deserve.
