MBB Winter Retreat
A Contemplative Renewal
Reconciling the LGBTQ-Mormon Conflict
Are you distressed by the conflicts between the teachings of the LDS Church and your own feelings about sexual orientation and/or gender identity? Is it daunting for you to consider facing conversations about these conflicts with loved ones, fellow church members and ecclesiastical leaders? Are you unsure which questions to ask, how to explain what you think and feel, and how to maintain healthy boundaries for yourself?
The spiritual and emotional suffering that can come from these conflicts can seem immeasurable, but it does not have to be. The suffering can be minimized or even removed, not necessarily by changing our faith or sexual orientation or gender identity but by shifting the way we frame the conflict and manage our distress.
This 24 hour Mormons Building Bridges Contemplative Retreat is designed to help you approach these tensions, conflicts, and challenging conversations by exploring the most important questions to ask yourself and others, helping you examine your thoughts and feelings safely, and helping you to create and maintain healthy interpersonal boundaries.
The MBB Reconciling the LGBTQ-Mormon Conflict Contemplative Retreat offers a rare opportunity for participants to reflect upon, renew, and reconnect with what matters most to them.
