Inspiring Kindness
Earlier this year Sprague students discussed ways to spread happiness to others. One such way was to paint rocks with pretty designs and hide them around the school for others to discover. The rock painting project was inspired by the kindness story, “Scribble Stones” by Diane Alber.
“Many of my students were inspired by this project and mentioned that they went home and painted more rocks and hid them around their neighborhood,” said First-Grade Teacher Jennifer Vander Pas.
Please visit the school's Facebook page or Google Doc folder for pictures of the activity.
ASAs Start Next Week
After school activities get underway next week. Check your child's class and day it meets. Please note that all classes end at 3:30 p.m. and require prompt student pick up or 103 Club students registered for that day will return to the 103 Club after class. There is no bus transportation. Parents may pick their child up in the circle drive. Please stay in your vehicle and let your child come to you.
Reporting Student Absences
If your child or someone in your house is experiencing COVID like symptoms, please get a COVID test. It is imperative that students who are ill stay home so they do not infect anyone else at school.
If the COVID test is positive, please reach out to covidhotline@d103.org or call 847-457-9314. When reporting an absence for other illnesses, contact the school nurse Cassie Horvath at chorvath@d103.org or 847-945-6665.
Please provide the following information:
Student’s first name and last name
Child’s grade
Parent email and phone number
Child's symptoms
If your child tests positive for COVID, provide the date of the test and type of COVID test administered
An automated call will go out to parents who do not report an absence.
L.A.M.P.S. Presentation
Sprague’s Library, Art, Music, Physical Education and Spanish teachers have planned an exciting video for you and your student. Through a recorded video teachers will explain their role in the Sprague education process and provide you with a sampling of activities from their subject area. Watch for a recorded video of the LAMPS teachers toward the end of the month.

Requesting Vaccine Cards
If you have had your child fully vaccinated for COVID, please send us a copy of your child's vaccination card so it can be added to your D103 students' health records. At this time, fully vaccinated students are not required to quarantine if they are identified as a close contact as long as they remain asymptomatic. Students are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the second dose was received. Students that show COVID 19 symptoms will still need a negative test prior to entering school regardless of vaccination status. You can track the percent of students vaccinated on our D103 COVID Dashboard.
Please use one of the following methods to provide us your child's vaccine card along with the student's first name, last name, and grade level: fax, email, mail, or physically dropping off a copy to the school.

Volunteers Needed for 5K Run Committee
The 2022 D103 PTO 5K is in jeopardy and we need your help!
The 5K event helps fund significant projects at our schools and is a much-loved springtime event in our community.
We are asking for your support to help us keep this event going. If you have previously attended and enjoyed the 5K, please consider volunteering for the core 5K committee (planning and organization).
5K Committee meetings are a fun way to participate in the PTO and give back to the schools.
And yes, you can volunteer to help out and still run at the event!
Please email 5k@d103pto.org if you are interested in helping out and we will reach out with more information.
