Flag signing scheduled for Springfield

Join transplant recipients, living donors, hero donor families, and supporters for the official flag signing for the 2016 Donate Life Transplant Games of America (TGA). Much like the Olympic torch, the flag will continue on to signing ceremonies scheduled in more than 40 other participating states.

The flag signing marks the official start of fundraising and promotional efforts for the next TGA, to be held June 10-16, 2016, in Cleveland, Ohio. There the flag will fly over opening ceremonies in the historic Public Hall. More than 6,000 people are expected to attend the five-day sports festival and celebration of the lifesaving gifts of transplantation.

Flag Signing Ceremony

Saturday, March 5th, 11:45am-2pm

Gift of Hope, 2401 Memphis Drive, Springfield, IL, United States

Members of Team Illinois as well as representatives from our transplant partners, including Gift of Hope, will be in attendance. In addition to recruiting athletes to participate in the 2016 Games, we hope to raise awareness of the critical need for organ, eye and tissue donation.

This is Team Illinois

Team Illinois is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that brings together transplant recipients, living donors, donor families, and their family and friends to promote awareness of the critical need for organ, eye, bone marrow and tissue donations and increase the number of potential donors on the state registry. Through participation in the Donate Life Transplant Games of America, we can show the world that transplantation saves and enhances the lives of recipients while commemorating those who selflessly gave the gift of life.
