March Elms Newsletter!
News From Dr. Hagens
This school year is moving right along and The Elms Family is continuing to work hard to provide the best education for all students. As we enter into the month of March, I continue to urge each of you to join us in the various activities we have planned for this month.
March is Reading Month!
Teachers are diligently planning activities that will promote literacy and reading throughout the month of March. The theme this year is “Groovy/Hippy”. We encourage you to engaged with your child in reading at home.
Our Annual Scholastic Book Fair takes place the week of March 14th ending on March 17th. The Scholastic Book Fair is an exciting time for your children to purchase books of many genres to read. The Book Fair will take place in our school’s library. We are always looking for volunteers to work the book fair so if you are interested, please contact the main office.
Parent Teacher Conferences PTC’s will be held on March 7th virtually. Spring conferences will only be conducted on an as needed basis. More information will be sent home from your child’s teacher in regards to conferences. We strive to develop ongoing positive relationships with all parents. Conferences are a great venue to build and nurture those parent, teacher, & student relationships as you learn more about your child's academic performance.
Half Day of School
A half day of school will be held on March 10th with a 12:15 pm dismissal time.
Early Dissmissal
There will be an earl dismissal on March 15th. This is the last early dismissal for the school year. School will dismiss at 2:05 pm.
Spring Break
Spring Break will be March 27th—31st. School resumes on April 3rd.
Jonathan Rand
He is known for his Michigan Chiller book series! We are excited to have Jonathan Rand this year and thankful to our PTA for covering the costs.
