What to expect to happen in the new world

Columbian Exchange

The Columbian Exchange was the big trade between the new world and the old world. The old world gained tabacco, vanilla, and totmatoes while the new wold recieved live stock, coffee beans, and lots of diseases.

Church of England

What is the Church of England, Puritans, the Pilgrims, and their journey.

The Church of England was established by Henry VIII, when he claimed to want a boy, his earliest wife bringing him a baby girl. He wanted a divorce, something looked down upon by the Catholics, instead of commiting infidelity. Ultimently creating a new religion, fabricating the Church of England. This expanded onto the topic of the Pilgrims.


The Pilgrims wanted to practice a different religion besides the Church of England, the topic of going to the new world to practice their religion appeared. They sailed off to the new world, being blown off course and ended up in Massuchetts. The Puritans came into the picture after this, you'd probably remember them by the Salem Witch Trials they committed.

Jamestown, Mayflower Compact, and the Great Awakening

Jamestown was founded in 1607, this was the first permanent colony the English made. They struggled with things such as mosqitoes, not very much drinking water, and scarce food. But soon rose to the occasion, making them a successful colony.


The Mayflower Compact was the first document created by the Plymouth Colony, stating that the people (known as the Pilgrims) would be watching over themselves, most of the document containing many statement reffering so.


The Great Awakening happened in between the 1720s and the 40s. The Great Awakening consisted of an evangelical and revitalization movement that carried from Europe to the developing America, leaving a permanent influence on American Protestantism.
