SOME NOTES FROM THE CONVERSATIONS ABOUT THE Z GENERATION
Generation Z is the name given to those born after 1995 and before 2010. Their characteristics are to be digital natives, to use technology and social networks from a very early age and to have always lived with the Internet.
The men and women of this generation are the first settlers of the virtual environment, their time is technological and their life is spent on a screen, either looking at it or showing off on it. They are perfectly adapted to digital life, where they study, work, have fun, shop, do administrative procedures and everything that previous generations did on paper, at a counter.
Z's are ambitious and lazy at the same time, hyper-connected with the world; but obsessed with themselves (selfies), whose interest is in the audience rather than in others. Their people are on mobile, their interest too. The progressive increase of psychic discomfort that we observe has a lot to do with the lack of physical competences and of the functionality of a job in the original sense: work is the set of activities that are performed with the aim of achieving a goal, solving a problem or producing goods and services to meet human needs.
The goal is more followers, the problem is their image and most of them have never suffered great needs. Bored of living well, they are anguished like Narcissus looking at their reflection on the screen.
