Dear JPS Families,

What a busy, but wonderful week we had at JPS!

We started the week off with Mr. Cahill taking students to their final Track and Field meet! From shot put, to high jump, to running, to long jump, we had so much skill represented from JPS. A huge thank you to families for bringing students to and from the practice, for all of the staff who volunteered their time to coach and make the track outings possible, and to the students for learning, practicing, and giving it their all.

A huge thank you to Mr. Fleet, intermediate students, and other schools for participating in this great multi-school event. It was great to see so much strategy, snacking, and smiles. Well done to the JPS kiddos who participated and medalled.

The Grade 8 students went to visit LaSalle Secondary School on Friday. It was a great experience and helped get them even closer to graduating from JPS.

The planning for our water fun day is underway! It will be a full day of water fun! Please ensure students come with a towel, sunscreen, and a hat. Students are encouraged to wear appropriate water attire for this super-fun day! A big thank you to Bauldree's for the hot dog donation. There will be ice cream for all on the day of as well! Thank you to the SAC for making it possible for the obstacle course and the foam machine - so fun! And...there may be a special ending from the fire department this day!

Grade 8 students should have received information and permissions forms about the grad trip to Wonderland. Looking forward to this great day in the big city.

We are already planning ahead for next year! If you have class placement requests for next year, please email Ms. Stephen or Ms. Paquin. Many factors determine class placements but where possible, we do our best to grant requests.

A friendly reminder to check your students for ticks and to apply sunscreen prior to coming to school as our school yard is very sunny!

Looking forward to a great week ahead!

June is Pride Month

In June we celebrate the LGBTQ2 community, which includes individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and two-spirit as well as a range of other gender and sexual identities. For the month of June, we will fly the intersex-inclusive flag with pride. The intersex-inclusive flag is the rainbow flag with a five-striped chevron to the left side of the pride flag representing LGBTQ+ people of color and the trans community as well as a purple circle, superimposed over a yellow triangle to represent the intersex community.

Summer Autism Programs

Kindergarten Registration is now open

KE 30 SECOND 2021 UPDATE 1920 x 1080

Welcome to Kindergarten at Joyceville Public School This is an exciting time for both you and your student. Kindergarten is a two-year, full-day program that helps children get the best possible start in school. Your student will be challenged and encouraged to do their very best. Our caring team of educators is with them every step of the way!

Kindergarten programs in Ontario offer a full day of learning for four- and five-year-olds. At Joyceville P.S., our Kindergarten program aims to nurture the whole child. In Kindergarten classrooms, a teacher and an early childhood educator work together as a team. This partnership helps to create a nurturing learning environment; giving every student the opportunity to learn in the way that is best suited to their individual strengths and needs.

If your student is four or five by the end of the year, now is the time to register for September 2022. your student here

You can feel confident your student will be cared for within safe and inclusive environments. We want everyone to see themselves in Limestone. We typically welcome new families to Kindergarten orientation events in May of each year. We will share more about these opportunities and when families can visit the school with their student soon.

Starting Kindergarten is an exciting time for everyone, and here at Joyceville P.S. we are ready to welcome your student to a wonderful new world of learning and growing.

Thank you for choosing Joyceville Public School. We look forward to meeting you.
