Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
School Disco
The School Disco on Friday was a great night with loads of dancing, fun and entertainment for the children. The DJ connected really well with our students and knew the right level at which to pitch music and when to change the pace. The sausage sizzle, glowing paraphernalia for purchase and food stalls were all very popular and really well managed by parents. Thank you to everyone involved in the organization, cooking, supervision and cleanup, especially Emma Keeffe and Jacquie Morgan for their co-ordination and energy. A top effort and one very much appreciated by all, especially our children.
Year 3-6 Dance Showcase
Yesterday’s Dance Showcase was a huge success with all in attendance enjoying a fantastic display of talent, enthusiasm and teamwork. The students have worked hard all term practising their performances in readiness for the concert. All classes involved did themselves proud in terms of their dancing, behaviour and support for each other. They looked amazing in their costumes, adding that extra dimension to the performances. Again, a huge thank-you to Mrs D’Adamo for choreographing all of the dances and music. Your efforts Candice, are hugely appreciated by students, parents and staff alike. Thanks to the staff for their support of students and to parents/families who were able to make the performance – thank you.
Fundraising for Telethon
As you would be aware, our dancing students have been invited to perform at Telethon this Sunday 27 October. I thank the students and their supporters for their initiative in organizing today’s cake stall as a fundraiser so that they can make a donation at the same time. We wish the students well and look forward to staying tuned to Channel 7 at 10.35am for their LIVE performance.
Thursday 24 October: Mrs D’Adamo will be running an Adults Only (15 yrs and up) “Dance Fit” class in our Gym at 7.00pm. $5 entry with all proceeds going to Telethon.
This is a fun “Zumba” style class with absolutely no pressure, you don’t need to be coordinated as it’s just a bit of fun while raising money. Candice would love to see you there!
Year 6 Girls Night In
Thank you to the parents who attended the Girls Night In last night. It was a great success and a huge thank you to Mrs Mahon, Mrs Sumner and Miss Armenti for presenting the talk.
Year 3 Reconciliation
I wish to congratulate our Year 3 students on preparing so well for their First Reconciliation in the church this evening. May each child feel the special peace and love of Jesus during this, and each time they receive the sacrament of reconciliation in the future.
Kindest regards with many blessings

Strategic Planning Update
As a part of our ongoing commitment to improvement, we have been reflecting on our progress as a school.
Thank you to the parents who attended focus groups and completed the online survey last term, providing valuable feedback about the school.
Feedback received from parents has been tremendously positive and suggests the school is making good progress. While there is much to celebrate, we have also identified areas we can continue to improve upon.
The table below indicates the main trends for review from parents.
One-off information received has been reviewed and will be taken into consideration as applicable.
This information, as well as information gathered from students, staff, the School Board and other data sources, will be used when making strategic plans for the school’s future.

'Fun Fit' Program
On Monday, our newly formed 'Fun Fit' program began in the Library. Students from Pre Primary to Year 2 were eager to take part in the early morning sensory movement session. The students have been identified by their class teachers as benefiting from some sensory movement activities prior to starting the school day. At Whitford Catholic, we aim to educate the 'whole child' and develop their cognitive, creative, social, emotional and physical capabilities. The children took part in a circuit of gross motor activities supervised by school staff. Thank you to all staff who have volunteered to support this fantastic program which will undoubtedly benefit these students. All resources for this program were purchased using the money raised through the 2019 'Paint Me A Rainbow' autism awareness campaign.
