LEHS Students – Preparing to Change the World
Back to School Information
Hello Lobos,
The start of the 2018-2019 is almost here. We are excited and have been preparing for a great year. Here is some information that will help you prepare as well.
1) Do you need a parking pass? You can purchase your 2018-2019 parking pass beginning Monday, July 30. This year we are offering the added convenience of purchasing parking passes online. Parking passes are $30 for the year. Students or parents can go online to the LEHS website under Students > then Parking Permits. When you click on the 2018-2019 Student Parking Permit Application link, a Google Form Application will open up where you will fill out all of the needed information. There are also links on Parking Permits website page with information on Parking Pricing, Parking Enforcement, Parking Maps, and Frequently Asked Questions. Please read all information about parking on campus before purchasing a parking permit. While we are offering the convenience of purchasing a parking permit online, students may still purchase a parking permit in person with cash or check only in their house office. Once school begins, parking permits can be purchased online or in House Offices before or after school.

2018-2019 LEHS School Supplies
WHAT: Back to School Bash Fair
WHEN: Saturday, August 4, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
WHERE: Lakeside Middle School - 400 Lobo Lane, Little Elm, TX 75068
WHY: Everything families need to know to begin the 2018-2019 school year plus health and community vendor and FUN activities!
The Bash will give parents and students a chance to get ready for the upcoming school year. The event is free. All District families and community members are welcome. Besides providing a great vendor fair for our Lobo Community, the Bash will feature information booths for all nine LEISD campuses providing details about school supplies, after-school care programs, clubs and activities, PTA membership, and more.
The event also assists families with limited resources so all kids can start the school year with a smile on their faces!
Thank you for helping our students start the new school year prepared to learn!
Why Apply for the Free/Reduced Lunch Program?
- Reduced device protection fee to use a district issued laptop.
- Fee waiver to take the SAT and/or ACT for free
- Dual Credit tuition for free at NCTC
- AP Exam Test fee reduction
High school students often do not want to participate in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. The Federal Free/Reduced Lunch Program is the standard used by many programs to qualify students for financial assistance. Even if a student never uses their eligibility in the lunchroom, they can benefit greatly in other areas if they qualify for the Lunch Program. Eligibility has to be reestablished each year. You can fill out the application here. We highly suggest that all families fill out an application to see if you qualify.
Freshman Orientation - Class of 2022
LEHS invites you to join us on the evening of Monday, August 13, 2018 for Freshmen Orientation. We will start at 6:30 PM and there will be sessions for students and parents, an opportunity to tour the building, organization booths to explore how you can get involved at LEHS, and a mini Pep Rally to get everyone pumped up for the year! Mark this event on your calendar and join us for an evening of Lobo hospitality!
Class of 2019 Senior Portraits
One of the first items on the senior year to-do list is to have official senior portraits taken for the yearbook. All yearbook portraits must be taken by our approved photography company, Prestige Portraits. Please note that you may choose whichever Prestige location is most convenient for you. Prestige will send the photos to the yearbook staff directly, so you do not need to worry about getting a copy to submit for the yearbook.
In order to guarantee that we have the photos in time for our yearbook deadline, and to ensure that you get to choose the pose you'd like for us to include, please have them taken BEFORE school starts on August 15.
A few other things to keep in mind:
The sitting for your formal yearbook (tux/drape) and cap and gown pose are FREE. The portrait studio will provide the apparel for all of these shots -- you do not need to bring a tux, etc...
Please note that school dress code applies to senior portraits, so be mindful of things like piercings, etc...
You may pay to have additional poses with other outfits taken for your personal use. Obviously, you do not have to use Prestige for these personal shots, but ONLY Prestige photographs may be used in the yearbook.
We look forward to a memorable year!
Congratulations to our 18-19 Cheer Squads!
Varsity competed against 7 other schools in the Large Varsity division; they placed 3rd in the Rally Routine (a 4 8count dance with 5 8counts of stunting, tumbling and jumps), 2nd in the Gameday competition (consisted of a band dance, a situational sideline chant, and a cheer), 1st Place for their Cheer, 2nd Place Overall out of the 8 teams, and took home the coveted Traditions award which goes to the team with the most school spirit.
Our JV team placed 1st with their Cheer, and our Freshman did a great job earning 1st with their Rally Routine, 3rd Overall in their division, and one of our Freshman girls won 2nd Place in the camp wide Jump Off.
We had 4 Varsity and 2 Freshman make the UCA All American team, and now have the opportunity to travel to London to participate in the Christmas Day Parade. We also had two girls be given the Pin-It Forward Award which only goes to 15 cheerleaders in the camp for their great attitude, kindness to others, and outstanding leadership qualities.

Report Harmful, Harassing, and Bullying Behavior
LEISD has an on-line tool called "Anonymous Alerts" that students, parents, and teachers can use to report harmful, harassing, and bullying type behaviors. Anonymous Alerts bullying reporting mobile app helps combat bullying and other negative activity in schools by empowering students to speak up. Social and peer pressures are some of the hardest obstacles for students to overcome. Anonymous Alerts encourages students, parents and staff to quickly, easily, and anonymously report bullying, cyber-bullying, gang-related issues, and other sensitive topics through private messages to school officials by building. All reports remain completely anonymous even during a two-way email conversation, although submitters have the option to reveal their identity if they prefer to have a person-to-person discussion.
