In The Middle
A newsletter to and for the parents of CLMS - 11/02/18
Message from the Principal
I love the week after deer hunting starts. The kids have such fun stories to tell me, and some of them are even true. The stories I like the best are the stories of them spending time with relatives that they may not see all that often. They get out into the elements and are disconnected, for the most part, from the every widening array of gizmos and gadgets. They hear the oral tradition of the families, they hear the same jokes for the 10th time. They see how grandpa and grandma might be slowing down a step. They see the things at the speed of nature. The smell of a fire, the bite of the air, and the sounds of the outdoors.
You know this and your kids do not, we will all get older and our time with our children is fleeting. Make it count.
We are all in this together.

Cast of The Little Mermaid pays a visit to the Middle School.
A eel on the prowl.
She looks like a little mermaid!
Former students with staff hamming it up.
Looks like it will be a good show.
When a shark comes to lunch....
That form maybe a bit large.

Lost and not yet found.
Cool mornings and warm afternoons equals an abundance of sweatshirts, hats, and gloves left at school. Some of these are really nice. Some of these were the items that your children "could not live without" have found a temporary home with us. But.... after conference they will be gone.
If you need a chuckle ask me to tell you the story of the lost and found at the last school I served. It involves my children and a slice of humble pie. - Ralph
I am a huge Ted Talk fan. Here is one idea worth spreading.
