A Word From Our President...

Dear Beta Alpha Sisters,


It is with great pride and excitement that I write this introduction to you as the new President of the Beta Alpha Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. I am honored to be in this position, and am looking forward to assisting YOU in making this a great biennium.


Please know I welcome and encourage your participation, support, and efforts as they are greatly valued and appreciated. Let's make 2016-2017 a year to remember!

Little Free Library Literacy Project

Beta Alpha is honored to partner with the Little Free Library Project in Jacksonville, TX to promote literacy in our community. We have agreed to a stewardship for the Little Free Libraries located in Phase 1 and Phase 2 of Nichol's Green Park. Our service and contributions to this project make the world a better place.


Spread the word that we need books for our libraries. They can be new, but gently used are even better.

Introducing Our New Website, and Facebook Page

As we continue to develop these new tools, we look for opportunities to connect with our local teaching community in order to promote professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.

Texas State Organization Convention

Our chapter had two members attend the 87th Annual State Convention. Alicia Tennison and Susan Vierkant represented our chapter in Frisco. Thank you Susan and Alicia!

This year's theme was Experience the HEART!


H: Heart - to encourage members to practice healthy lifestyles which promote healthier chapters
E: Education - to educate members about the importance of membership and encourage them to make an impact on their communities and the world
A: Achievement - to achieve our goals as leaders in our chapters and recognize our accomplishments as key women educators
R: Reflect - to reflect on our heritage as we advance the Societyto work as members of

T: Teamwork - a team to strengthen involvement in all levels of the Society

Area 1 Workshop

A huge shout out to our Beta Alpha Ladies! We represented our chapter in a big way!! Six of our members attended the Area 1 Workshop which took place on July 30, 2016 at The Cumberland Academy High School in Tyler, TX.


We appreciate Kim Paetzel, our Area 1 Coordinator, and the Tyler Area Delta Kappa Gamma chapters for hosting this event.
