SVCS Digital Learning Month
Week 2: Sidekick for Gmail
Challenge:
1. Review the steps below.
2. Compose and schedule an email to msellers@svcs.k12.in.us on Friday (2/12) at 3:00PM.
What is Sidekick?
Sidekick is a free service that can be added on to the Chrome browser in order to integrate with your Gmail account. See below for features!
Track an email to a specific individual
Do you want to be sure a parent receives an important email? You can click on the box prior to sending the email. This will allow you to make certain they have received and opened the email. If it is never opened, then you can follow up with the parent to see if the email address you have on file is correct.
Compose and Schedule it!
That's right! Compose an email to individuals or groups and schedule it to be sent later! You specify the time.
Notifications
You can choose to turn on notifications to receive up to 200 free notifications in a list. Turn this on when you want to see if a contact receives your email successfully.
Tip: I turn the notifications off unless I am waiting to see if someone receives and opens my email. If not turned off, you will have notifications popping up that will otherwise be in the way.
