Attendance Requirements
For high school credit-bearing classes, attendance is a requirement for promotion and/or credit. Students must attend at least 85 days of a 90-day course or 170 days of a 180-day course or 42 days of a 45-day course. Students who exceed the approved limits for unexcused absences may not receive credit in the course.
For college-credit bearing classes, students are not permitted to miss more than three (3) class meetings for any reason. Once they exceed three (3) absences they will be dropped from the class.
Transportation
BUSES
Students may ride any ECHS-designated bus to and from school.
If you have any bus-related complaints throughout the year, please use this link to log your complaint. This is the way that CCSD tracks bus issues and shares them with Durham. I have found that when we use this form, there is generally a swift response.
Register for REMIND notifications with Coastal Bus lines here.
CARPOOL
Parents, if you are picking up a student, we ask that you wait in a lined parking spot until you see your student. Once you see them, please drive to the car loop in front of the building. For safety reasons, students will not be allowed to get into a car unless it is in the car loop. We cannot allow parents to wait in car lanes, as it blocks traffic. Thank you, in advance, for your help in keeping our student safe.
Course Syllabi
Parents, we are very proud to be able to offer this great resource for you to help your students. Many thanks to Ms. Lewis, our AVID Coordinator for developing this website!
