Students Participate in Technology Internships
Whether job shadowing, completing community service hours or moving into the 2nd year of the class TACOS (Technology Acquired Certification of Service), students at Graham High School are getting a unique experience. The Graham Local Schools Technology Department is providing hands-on experience to students who show an interest in pursuing a career in the technology field. This year, Marqus (Senior), Brandon (Senior), Evan (Junior), Josh (Sophomore), and Ethan (Freshman) are learning the inner workings of their schools’ tech department. Chromebook repair, software/hardware installation, new equipment testing, troubleshooting, organization, and inventory are just a few of the tasks that are completed on a daily basis. This opportunity is not only teaching them leadership skills but also the importance of collaborating with their colleagues in order to find a solution to a problem. In addition to aiding teachers and students at the high school, the Career Gears program is presenting Senior interns with the chance to help out in other buildings in the district. Opportunities like this are what is helping to make Career Gears a success for Graham Local Schools and meeting the goals of Graham 2020.

Teen Ambassador Board
The Ohio Attorney General’s Teen Ambassador Board is open to high school juniors and seniors from public, private, home, charter, and online schools located in Ohio. Ideal candidates are motivated, enthusiastic, self-starters who are interested in law and government.
The mission of the Teen Ambassador Board is to provide Ohio’s future leaders with an inside look at Ohio law and government. The Board consists of high school students from around the state. Applicants selected will serve a one-year term and convene twice in Columbus during their tenure on the Board. Members will advise our office on issues relating to teens and work with their peers to develop solutions to those issues. Students will be placed into small groups, advised by an Assistant Attorney General. Members will attend presentations on a wide variety of topics. Students will also have the opportunity to meet with Attorney General Dave Yost, attend events around the state throughout the year, visit our Columbus and regional offices, interact with Assistant Attorneys General, and hear from various elected officials.
The Attorney General’s Teen Ambassador Board gives Ohio’s teens an unparalleled opportunity to engage in government and law. Students will address some of the greatest issues facing our state and develop solutions to improve the lives of Ohioans. Ambassadors will have the opportunity to receive training on important and pertinent matters, meet with elected officials and interact with Assistant Attorneys General.
Previously, the Board met with Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, members of the Ohio Senate and House of Representatives, toured the Ohio Supreme Court and met with Supreme Court Justices, and spoke with senior administrative staff, employees, and BCI scientists of the Attorney General’s Office.
Teen Ambassador Board applications are due June 30, 2019. Acceptance letters for the program will be mailed by July 15. Additional information and the application for the program can be found at: http://www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/State-and-Local-Government/Schools/Teen-Ambassador-Board
