Spring Flings and Easter Things
We celebrated Easter last week and dove into spring this week! Some activities during centers included paint dotting eggs with clothespins and pom poms, snipping grass, making bunny ears, painting squirrels, counting spring objects, drawing lines, making tissue paper butterflies, dotting ladybugs, thinking about same v. different objects, playing nature Bingo, and dying eggs with shaving cream and food coloring. At circle time, we sang the months of the year song and clapped out the syllables in April. We sang about washing hands, signs in the community, and looking both ways before we cross the street.
For P.E., we did an obstacle course in which we worked on our upper body, lower body, and core strength by rolling, crawling, balancing, and jumping. We used scooter boards, hopped in sacks, and took turns popping bubbles. During friends group, we did animal matching, talked about action words, identified and matched spring objects, and played fishing and camping in our dramatic play area!
We had fun doing various egg hunts around campus, and taking pictures on Picture Day.
Spring Fling Friday
For those families coming to Spring Fling, please bring your child to our classroom (Panda class, Rm 21) at 3pm so we can get into our costumes. Parking, as well as chairs in the audience, fills up really quickly, so I would suggest getting to school early to get a spot. The performance begins at 3:30pm, and will last 30ish minutes. The kids have been practicing very hard and we can't wait to show off our skills!
Upcoming
- Spring break is next week! No school April 9-12. See you all again on the 16th!
- The CDC theme for April is nature. We have been working on lining up on our nature pictures (caterpillar, butterfly, flower, rainbow, trees, Earth, etc.). After break, we will be getting some classroom caterpillars and watching their transformation as they turn into beautiful butterflies.
