Thank you to everyone for participating in our virtual curriculum nights. While I know it wasn't our typical night, our staff greatly appreciated connecting with you. Thank you for your continued partnership!

Conferences are fast approaching. They will be held Thursday, October 8th from 8:00 am -8:00 pm and Friday, October 9th from 8:00 am -noon.

Recess Bags

Many of you received information regarding recess bags for your children. If you didn't, please don't worry, your teacher will be sharing it soon. The goal of the bag is for each child to have a recess bag that contains independent activities that your child enjoys. This bag of items could be used during indoor or outdoor recess. Students who are new to Ferson will receive a new drawstring bag. Students who were at Ferson last year should reuse the same bag. If you need a replacement, they are $2 each and can be purchased through PushCoin.

Directory Spot

We are preparing this year’s family and staff directory, called DirectorySpot. Even if you were in the directory in the past, families must grant permission and share their information each year, in order to be included in the directory. Whether your child(ren) is in-person or remote, we would love to have your family included!

You will be able to access it from a free app (iPhone or Android) or from the web. Once we have all of the data loaded, you will get an email with instructions on how to download DirectorySpot and set your own password. (The directory is very secure and only families and staff of Ferson Creek Elementary will be granted access. Each user will sign in with their authorized email address and will set their own password. More information on the security features is available on the DirectorySpot website.)
Please provide your family's permission and information here: https://tinyurl.com/FersonDirectory20-21

Remote Book Check-out & Library Card Information

All D303 students have access to the STC Public Library. Also, all of our remote students still have access to the Ferson library. Please click here to view information on both the STC and Ferson libraries.

Please Remember to Certify!

Every day our morning arrival is improving! If it is possible to certify your child online prior to 7:30 am, that would greatly help our arrival procedures. There are some students that are coming with a luggage tag signed, but not the online portion completed. Please help us by doing both in the morning.

  • Step 1: Log-in here, using your HAC credentials. Answer the questions honestly. If you receive the green "you are good to go" screen, your child is clear to come to school. You do not need to print the green ticket.
  • Step 2: Initial your child's luggage tag (that we will be providing you) signifying your completion of the online form.

PTO Update

The Parent-Teacher Organization at Ferson Creek exists to provide volunteers, materials and money to the students and teachers to enhance their school experience. Primarily, the PTO provides a platform for parents and teachers to consider issues and work together as a community. This year, our involvement at Ferson will look different, but we feel that now, more than ever, we are committed to showing our support to our students and staff, even if we must do so from a distance. This year's Board Officers are working together as a team to help the PTO run efficiently and smoothly, amid the unknown and uncertainties of this year. To fulfill the IRS requirements for a 501(c)3, these officers must include position titles, such as President, Secretary, and Treasurer; however, our officers have chosen to work collaboratively, regardless of titled positions. We are looking for a few more people to complete our PTO Board so that we can efficiently meet our goals and purposes. We always welcome new members and have a few openings on our Board, including Treasurer. If you’re interested in being a part of our team, or know someone who could be a good fit, we’d love to get to know you better. Please contact us at FersonCreekPTO@gmail.com .

We are so excited for this school year! If you have any questions, please contact the Ferson Creek PTO at FersonCreekPTO@gmail.com .

Amazon Smile

AmazonSmile is a program that automatically donates a portion of sales to a selected charity. It does NOT cost shoppers anything additional, but it only works through AmazonSmile, not Amazon. You can now shop through AmazonSmile on your app as well as on the web! See the directions below to set it up. Every little bit counts. With more people shopping online, charitable donations can add up quickly!

  1. Go to http://smile.amazon.com/

  2. Search for 'Ferson' and you will be able to choose "Parent Teacher Organization of Ferson Creek Elementary School Inc."

  3. Make sure to change your bookmark so that you go to the Smile site. We only get credit if you order from the Smile side. It must say 'smile.amazon.com' every time.

  4. Shop on Amazon like you always have!
